My random keyboards
I have a small collection of keyboards
Just some of my keyboards that I have. Over the pandemic I got into keyboards. I've built all of the keyboards I have and I really like using them. Maybe I have too much keyboards, but that's a problem for another day.
Owlab Spring
This is by far my favorite keyboard. It has been my daily driver and it is an absolute blast to use. This has an absurd amount of features: Leaf-spring mount, per-key PCB cut-outs, mirror bottom, foams, everything! It's also quite a looker and surprisingly has a lot of functional keys present like the often-omitted WIN key and the arrow keys on the right.
Mode Sonnet
Mode have always been good at incorporating elegance in their designs. All of their keyboards are just perfect for the no-nonsense type of people that want a dash of pop on their desks.
Mode SixtyFive
This was my previous daily driver before the Owlab Spring. It's amazingly simple in design but to a refined degree. You know it's serious business when you pick it up: It has a hefty solid brass bottom. You won't be bumping this thing accidentally anytime soon.
IKBC MF87
Nothing much to write about this one. I bought this at a bargain due to some lights not working properly. There were some issues with the switches too. But this is by far one of the heaviest keyboards I have.
Rakk Lam-Ang Pro
What set me off in this weird tangent of keyboard madness was this keyboard. I ordered this keyboard as soon as it was available and spray-painted it to the best of my abilities, bought custom switches and keycaps. I wanted something very light so that I could practice touch typing so I settled with Gateron Clears, one of the lightest switches around. It's still a joy to type on even though my preference now is a little on the heavy side of 67g~.
Gerald65
This one was a doozy. This was basically one of my first tries to join group buys, and oh boy did I get the GB experience alright. This keyboard got delayed by a year due to production issues. It was the first time Paper Crane Keyboards have ever done group buys and it's always a challenge to ramp up production. It's still a looker though. I really love how the carbon fiber plate shows a tiny bit underneath the acrylic. It's a super stiff typing experience but I don't think you were aiming for flex when you buy this keyboard. Well, maybe a different kind of flex, but I digress.
KBDFans Tofu 60 Acrylic
This was the hottest thing back around 2020. Tofu was the gold standard for custom builds. I'm glad to have a piece of history but its price has gotten lower due to the influx of newer and better keyboards. I still enjoy it as part of my collection but it is showing its age for its lack of features that is standard with keyboards now.
Herringbone
This was a local group buy from Ramon Imbao (RMK). It looks great with the exposed components and everything. I paired it with the C3 Tangerine V2s which was very rare at the time of building this keyboard, only reserved for only the best builds. I kinda miss this keyboard, haven't used this for awhile.
